The Youth Council of the American Red Cross of Northwest New Jersey hosted its 7th
Annual Youth Leadership Conference on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the County
College of Morris. Over 50 students from area high schools attended the event. Keynote speaker, Emily Wolper, an education consultant from Morristown, lead a dynamic discussion on benefit’s of extra curricular activities. She also held a question and answer session, where she helped the students navigate the college road map with tips on how to write a great college essay’s and why SAT scores matter, as well as many more. In addition speakers from "Spark the Wave" a non-profit organization that builds on young people's passion for volunteerism, offered hands-on lessons and activities on motivating groups and the importance of communication. SPARK THE WAVE is located in Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. |
