MEASLES INITIATIVE The American Red Cross is not a government agency and all Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to the generosity of people like you. Ninety-two cents of every dollar donated to the American Red Cross is spent on programs and services that help people in need. What's more, the value of your donation is increased by the fact that the ratio of volunteer Red Cross workers to paid staff is almost 50 to one. Money magazine recently rated the American Red Cross as its "number one charity" based on our performance over the past three years. By making a donation to your local chapter, you demonstrate your commitment to the humanitarian work of the Red Cross. You allow Red Cross volunteers to turn your compassion into action. All types of gifts are accepted - cash contributions, securities, property, office equipment, goods and services. For more information on how to make a gift to the American Red Cross of Northwest New Jersey, please call 973-538-2160 or click here for contact information.
Tax Advantages The government encourages charitable giving by allowing generous tax deductions that actually serve to reduce the cost of a gift or to enable the donor to make a more generous gift. For this reason, the prospective donor is urged to consult with his or her attorney or tax adviser regarding the latest rules and the methods of giving that are most advantageous. |
