INTERNATIONAL
AND TRACING SERVICES
This
service provides assistance in locating and contacting family members in
foreign countries and vice versa. International and Tracing Services also
provides Holocaust Tracing for persons seeking information about relatives
from Eastern Europe who lost contact during the years surrounding World War
II.
Morris
County serves a diverse population with many residents who have relatives
living in other countries. As the population diversity continues to grow,
the need for International Social Services and Tracing can be expected to
increase. Recent disasters impacting entire countries has proven the value
of this service. Adults and youth seeking welfare information regarding
family members in impacted areas look to the Red Cross for help. American
Red Cross chapters work with the International Society of Red Cross and Red
Crescent Societies to provide assistance.
A
special emphasis with marketing has been placed on Holocaust Tracing. There
is a concern that family members will forever lose an opportunity to bring
understanding and closure to the events surrounding World War II if requests
for tracing are not started soon. An aging population who holds the key to
family history must be encouraged to share it and start the tracing process.
