Activity: The Measles Initiative |
|
Purpose:
Measles is the leading
vaccine preventable cause of death among children in Africa. Each year, it
kills nearly one million children, a half million in Africa alone. In places
where health conditions are extremely poor and access to health care is minimal,
measles can be easily prevented by a simple vaccination that costs $1. Please
read on to find simple holiday fundraising ideas to help.

|
Purpose: The
American Red Cross plays a crucial role at the Veteran’s
Hospital in Lyons, New Jersey every day. There are about 600

participate in this program by collecting and/or making items
that will be delivered to the Veterans’ Hospital and distributed
to veterans on special occasions.

Youth Leadership Conference
The American Red Cross 6th Annual Youth Leadership Conference was
held on November 5. Students from across the area came together at the Skylands
in Randolph for an interactive workshop to enhance their leadership skills and
to learn about the cooperative and motivational importance of teamwork. They
were also informed about our Red Cross chapter and were encouraged to volunteer.
Thank you to everyone who attended – the event was definitely a success! |
