In
today’s day and age, babysitting seems like more of a right of
passage than a chore of adolescence. To ensure the safety of
the child or children you are entrusted with as well as the
safety of yourself, it is recommended that you first take the
babysitting training course offered at the Red Cross.
This course, designed for youth age 11-15, focuses on the
quintessential issues of babysitting, and the basic course takes
approximately six hours to complete. Babysitter’s Training is
developed to the lay responder level of training and focuses on
leadership, basic care safety, safe play and first aid. You can
expect to learn:
-
How to obtain and
interview for a babysitting job;
-
How to choose safe and
age-appropriate toys and games;
-
How to perform first
aid; how to diaper and feed a child, how to handle bedtime
issues;
-
Acquire more knowledge
enabling you to have an overall safer babysitting
experience.

In
general, babysitter training is a wonderful opportunity to both
learn and practice the necessary skills of successful
babysitting.
