Sponsor a Disaster Preparedness Table at Back to School Night!

The American Red Cross needs your help promoting National Preparedness Month during the month of September. You can make a difference in making your community members safer by sponsoring a table with preparedness information at your Back to School night at your own local elementary, middle, or high school.

It’s important that you be prepared for possible disasters and other emergencies.  Natural or human-caused disasters can strike suddenly, at anytime and anywhere.  There are three action steps everyone can take that can help make a difference:

How you can help spread the word…

• Contact the appropriate administrator at your school to see if you can have a small table at Back to School night to distribute brochures

• Ask your administrator how many brochures you will need.  Base this estimate on 1 brochure per family.

• Once you have permission and know how many brochures you need, contact Bonnie at bayers@northwestnjredcross.org or 973-538-2160 x213 to obtain Be Red Cross Ready brochures.

• Get Credit! Please help us keep track of Red Cross activities in your community.  Complete the Be Red Cross Ready Event Form and email it to bayers@northwestnjrecross.org.
