| Make A Difference Day Blood Drive
Each day, thousands of patients need blood: cancer patients,
patients requiring heart surgery, premature babies and burn
victims. Did you know that one blood donation can save three
lives? By giving blood regularly, we ensure that there is always
enough blood. Teenagers are the fastest growing group of blood
donors in the United States, supplying as much as 16% of the
blood supply in some places. Youth of all ages can help
increase the blood supply by supporting our Youth Council’s
first annual Make A Difference Day Blood Drive! |

Here are some ideas:
- Set up a committee to recruit blood donors for the
blood drive and set goals and timeframes to reach those
goals
- Contact your local papers to see if you can put in
an ad about the blood drive
- Contact the superintendent of your school district
to have blood drive information posted on your district
website, in school newsletters/newspapers, weekly
reminders, etc.
- Contact local grocery stores in your area to see if
you can put up a poster or leave flyers for their
customers to promote the drive
- Contact Bonnie at
bayers@northwestnjredcross.org to receive copies of
ready made flyers or PSA spots for your school’s morning
announcements
- Get Credit! Please help us keep track of Red Cross
activities in your community. Complete the
